MadFish Armory is the software side of MadFish Solutions, an ecommerce agency that has spent more than thirty years building for retailers who sell physical, regulated, serious products. Firearms were never a side project for us.
Agency roots
Thirty years building commerce for people who sell physical things.
MadFish Solutions started as an ecommerce agency, and became a BigCommerce partner in 2012. Firearms retailers were part of that client list from early on, alongside outdoor, tactical and specialty brands.
Noticing the gap
The website kept getting better. The rest of the shop did not.
Store after store, we saw the same pattern: a modern storefront sitting on top of a counter system, a range calendar and a catalog process that had never been asked to talk to it, or to each other.
Building the family
So we built the counter, the range and the catalog to match the website.
Iron Register, Rangune and Armory Tools were built to share the same product data and the same philosophy as MadFish One from day one: fixed pricing, direct support, and software written by people who already understood the industry.
Why we do this
We are gun people first, before we are ever developers or consultants.
Every person on this team shoots, collects or hunts. We did not pick firearms as a market to enter, we build for this industry because we genuinely love it, and that shows up in the parts of the software nobody has to ask us to get right.
We have felt the same frustrations we now build software to fix, and we still get genuinely excited when a piece of technology makes a shop's day noticeably easier. That is why we do this.

The bound book, the 4473 workflow and the audit trail were designed around federal recordkeeping from the first line of code, not added to a generic point of sale after the fact.
